She's hard to explain. Q: Where does Ana live? A: Minneapolis, MN, USA Q: Where does Ana chat? A: Her chat room is mentioned in the 'anatomy' section of the anacam web site. Its '#analove' on 'irc.warped.net'. Q: How does one pronounce "Voog"? A: You used to be able to call 1-888-226-5907 Toll Free and hear some guy pronounce it. A nice guy named Jeb emailed to tell me that the number is no longer in service. So, start with Moon and change the 'n' to a 'g'. Now you get Moog, like the Moog synthesiser. Then change the 'M' to a 'V' and you get Voog. Q: What is the anacam? A: In Ana's words: "well, to tell you the truth. i don't totally know why. i'm just really curious, i guess to do this as some sort of experiment. i'm very interested in the study of human nature, so this is kind of a study in that, sort of. i guess i just want to see what kind of effect it will have on me and what will happen. plus, i feel i have a lot of fun things to share, and since i'm an entertainer by nature and profession, it just seemed cool to be able to do it on the net, it's such an immediste medium. i want to keep expanding myself in different ways i can communicate to people. i'm an artist through and through. and this is a terribly arty self-indulgent thing to do, so i just had to do it. it was such an intense idea. and i like intense, and i like to push boundaries of what people think a woman is and isn't. because i am in "showbiz" people always want to know about me, and they usually get it all wrong and try to put me into a neat little compartmentalized package for mass consumption. it's like having a speculum up your ass and that's all they can see. so i'm also doing this to say "HERE YA GO, HERE'S MY LIFE, I'M A REAL PERSON AND HERE I AM IN ALL MY MUNDANE AND SPECTACULAR GLORY, GO AHEAD AND ANALYZE THE CRAP OUT OF IT" :) you want Ana? you got Ana!!!!!! LOL! :) but as i've been doing this for almost a year now ( i started on august 22nd, 1997), i'm coming to more and more the conclusion that this site isn't about me at all...it's about YOU! yes, anacam seems to be a giant ink blot that people project their own psyche upon. it's about PROJECTION. what do YOU see here? what do YOU think this site is about? and what does that say about YOU? :) what does it say about your ideas, morals, ethics, boundaries, state of mind...when you feel and think about this site? that is my question to you...my gift...i am your mirror, it seems. that's how I feel about this site so far...and that is part of what i've learned and pondered as i've read the email i receive and chatted in my irc channel, and had many interviews. but mostly, all analyzing aside, i'm just doing this for the pure surreal fun of it. no lie. it's just plain simple fun. i think i'm more amused by this project than anyone! i just think this is a fabulous opportunity to share my life with you through my cam ,my art, my analogs (diary and updates) and my writings (anagrams), and in that process, learn more about EVERYTHING! A: In Ana's words: i am a singer/songwriter/performance artist. i also am a visual artist. before that i was in an all-female band called The Blue Up? for 11 years. we put out 4 albums. they're all out of print. the last one was called Spool Forka Dish and it was released by Columbia Records. i hope someday The Blue Up? records will go back in print. you can still find some by searching used record stores. i also paint, draw, sew, and write and print out my own little homemade books. :) Q: Does Ana have any pets or hobbies? A: In Ana's words: i have a dog named pooka (he is a japanese chin and the best fluff monster ever!). and yes, my house is usually very messy. i have a lot of things in too small of a space! but i know where everything is! i keep trying for that minimalist approach but never quite get there. ah, but i'll keep trying! and my mannequins names are : charlotte, alice, sylvia, montreal, and grace. my stuffed animals names are : pie, bing, doeg, balloon, pinkjinkapus, japan, peruse, jippy, e'jarbron, and the rest you can't write out in the english language. Clara is from a French root that means clear or bright. Voog is Estonian for flow. So Ana Clara Voog could be an upward clear, bright flow.
